What is the Indices page?

Overview of the indices page

The indices page offers users a comprehensive view of the movements and changes in a specific index. By default, the page displays the statistics for the KSE 100 index and is divided into several sections:

  • Indices Overview bar

  • Today's Summary

  • Top point contributors

  • Index Summary

  • Index Constituents

  • Trading Stats

  • Joiners & Leavers

  • Technical Indicators

  • Moving Averages

How to access the page?

You can access the tool quickly by typing /ind in StockIntel's search bar.

What details can be found in the Indices Bar?

The indices bar showcases all the indices of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in individual boxes. Each box includes the index name along with live trading values, such as the current value, points change, and percentage change during trading hours.

How can I choose an index on the page?

Simply click on the desired index in the indices bar to make your selection.

What data does the Today's Summary section include?

  • Current Value

  • Points Change

  • Percentage Change

  • Volume

  • Value Traded

  • Opening Value

  • Previous Closing Value

  • Intraday High/Low

  • 52-week High/Low

  • Total Scrips (advancers, decliners, unchanged)

  • Sector-wise points contribution

  • Index-wise points contribution

What is the sunburst chart?

The sunburst chart visualizes a selected index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), with each slice representing a sector or company.

Size of each slice represents Weight.

Color of the slice represents Change. Colors range from dark green for highly positive percentage change to dark red for extremely negative percentage change, based on a range of -7.5% to +7.5%. (the range is provided just below the chart)

Hover for Stats: View specific sector stats such as index points, change %, weight %, and market cap (PKR 000’s).

Click to Explore: Clicking on a sector rearranges the chart, focusing on that sector and showing detailed stats (index points, change %, weight %, and market cap in 000’s) for companies within it.

To revert to the chart’s original form, click the circle in the middle.

What does the Top Point Contributors bar chart represent?

It displays the top 15 positive and negative contributors to the index.

Default View: Shows 1-day companies data live during market hours and current day values after closing.

Timeframe Options: Sort by 1 week (1W), 1 month (1M), 3 months (3M), 6 months (6M), YTD, and 1 year (1Y) using the respective buttons above the chart.

View by Company/Sector: Click on "Company" or "Sector" in the upper right to switch views.

Downloading in Image: Click "Download Image" above the chart to save an image of the chart.

What is the Index Constituents section?

It lists all companies and sectors within the index, providing a brief performance overview.

Data Types for Companies:

  • Company symbol and name

  • Index Weight

  • Points

  • Current Price

  • Change

  • Change %

  • High

  • Low

  • Volume

  • Market Cap (000's)

Data Types for Sectors:

  • Sectors

  • Index Weight

  • Points

  • Change (000's)

  • Change %

  • Volume

  • Market Cap (000's)

Data Available: Default is 1-day (1D), with options for 1 Week (1W), 1 Month (1M), 3 Months (3M), 6 Months (6M), Year-to-Date (YTD), and 1 Year (1Y).

Navigating the Table:

Step 1 - Select Timeframe: Click the respective buttons above the table on the left.
Step 2 - View by Company/Sector: Use the "Companies" or "Sectors" buttons above the table on the right to switch views.

Data Update: Updated live during market hours and reflects current day values after closing.

Downloading Data: Click "Export Excel" in the upper right to download the data.

What is the trading stats section?

Displays trading volume and value statistics.

Data Types:

  • Volume Today

  • 5-day Average Volume

  • Value Traded Today

  • 5-day Average Value Traded

How often is the Indices page updated?

The indices page offers real-time data on all listed companies and indices of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), providing investors with up-to-the-minute information on stock prices, market indices, and their fluctuations.
